"Opus  Nigrum"  voz latina

2 alq. Término utilizado en la Edad Media para referirse a libros que hablaban sobre temas prohibidos: como la magia, la alquimia, el satanismo o el paganismo.

3 Dícese de aquella fórmula alquímica en la cuál se explicaba el proceso de separación y disolución de la materia.

4  Simbolizaba así mismo las pruebas supremas del espíritu en su proceso de liberación.

Los alquimistas se encargaban de la búsqueda de textos mágicos que provenían de una época en que la raza humana estaba más cerca de la fuente de las cosas o que fueron transmitidos por inteligencias superiores, extraterrestres, guardianes o sus familiares inmediatos. Estos textos trataban de la creación o síntesis de la materia y eran un modelo para la experimentación física y química en un contexto cosmológico. Estos textos han sido reinterpretados de diferentes formas según épocas y culturas.

La novela Opus Nigrum (1968) de Marguerite Yourcenar trata del descubrimiento de un modo de realización interior, y de cómo nuestros ideales pueden sustentarse en cosas tan endebles como la vanidad, el orgullo o el capricho. La novelista traza el perfíl de una época y de un paradigma humano que de manera oblicua retrata el trágico destino de la sabiduría en su lucha contra el fanatismo.  

Opus Nigrum 2.0 es un video experimental que surge como un diálogo personal y subjetivo con la obra y el personaje que nos retrata la novelista. Zenón es un sabio y aventurero que no desconoce ninguno de los saberes de su tiempo, tiene total independencia de espíritu y su búsqueda del saber supera al Humanismo en sus rígidas fórmulas. Zenón, tratando de desentrañar los mecanismos que componen la realidad, tratando de desenmascarar al mundo se acaba encontrándose a sí mismo, en pos de un ideal que no puede ser compartido, sino único.

2 Alquemy. Term used in the Middle Ages to refer to books that talked about forbidden subjects: such as magic, alchemy, Satanism or paganism.

3 Said of that alchemical formula in which the process of separation and dissolution of matter was explained.

4 It also symbolized the supreme tests of the spirit in its liberation process.

The alchemists were in charge of the search for magical texts that came from a time when the human race was closer to the source of things or that were transmitted by higher intelligences, extraterrestrials, guardians or their immediate relatives. These texts dealt with the creation or synthesis of matter and were a model for physical and chemical experimentation in a cosmological context. These texts have been reinterpreted in different ways according to times and cultures. Marguerite Yourcenar's novel Opus Nigrum (1968) deals with the discovery of an inner mode of fulfillment, and how our ideals can be sustained by such flimsy things as vanity, pride or caprice. The novelist traces the profile of an era and a human paradigm that obliquely portrays the tragic destiny of wisdom in its fight against fanaticism.

Opus Nigrum 2.0 is an experimental video that arises as a personal and subjective dialogue with the work and the character portrayed by the novelist. Zenón is a wise man and adventurer who does not ignore any of the knowledge of his time, he has total independence of spirit and his search for knowledge surpasses Humanism in its rigid formulas. Zeno, trying to unravel the mechanisms that make up reality, trying to unmask the world, ends up finding himself, in pursuit of an ideal that cannot be shared, but unique.
